Description
A spiral wound gasket seals flanges at high pressure and high temperature. It has a V-shaped steel strip wound together with a soft filler, such as graphite. As a result, it springs back when the joint heats and cools. We stock spiral wound gaskets in all common sizes at our showroom in Nad Al Hamar, Dubai.
First, give us the flange size and class, for example 6″ Class 300. Next, choose the filler: graphite for steam and hydrocarbons, or PTFE for chemicals. Finally, choose the rings: an outer ring centres the gasket, while an inner ring protects the winding. Also, always fit a new gasket when you open a flange, because a used winding has already compressed.
Why Choose Our Spiral Wound Gasket
- High pressure: It suits Class 150 up to Class 2500 flanges.
- High temperature: Graphite filler handles steam and hot oil.
- Resilient seal: Because the winding springs back, it copes with thermal cycles.
- Colour coded: In addition, the ring colours show the winding and filler at a glance.
